| In 1995 I took a decision to change my life. At | | | | enemy competitor. |
| that time I was a well paid Pharmaceutical Rep | | | | I always put my client needs before my need of |
| with a very nice salary, bonuses, expense | | | | making money & the money/business just |
| account, car & who went to conferences in | | | | flowed through to me. My clients became regulars |
| warm foreign countries. But, despite all these | | | | who not only 'bought' from me time & time |
| attractive trimmings my life on the corporate | | | | again but they also recommended me to their |
| treadmill was not what or where I wanted it to | | | | family & friends. I used to say that if I could |
| be. I would sit in 'important' sales meeting & | | | | make a difference to just 1 person per week |
| conferences & think 'this is really not | | | | then my time had been well spent. More than 1 |
| important to me in my life'. | | | | & I was ecstatic. We each carved our own |
| I retrained as a Massage Therapist taking extra | | | | niche as reliable trustworthy professionals & |
| courses to learn Reflexology, Aromatherapy, | | | | the word spread quickly. |
| Indian Head Massage & Reiki Healing. All this | | | | I kept my 'list' engaged by sending out regular |
| was at the time when therapies were right on | | | | newsletters & special offers, again I was |
| the cusp of being trendy & popular. The | | | | offering value. None of us needed to rely on paid |
| courses I took were always well subscribed with | | | | advertising for new clients as our reputations with |
| enthusiastic & gifted students all eager to | | | | existing clients did this for us. In short we all |
| change their lives & careers to something | | | | practised 'Attraction Marketing' long before the |
| more fulfilling & useful to mankind. I joined a | | | | name existed & all had thriving profitable |
| national professional association & went along | | | | businesses where the majority failed. |
| eagerly to monthly meetings held by a local group | | | | So, when I came into Internet Marketing 16 |
| & yet again these meetings were full of | | | | months ago I began to reapply these principles as |
| students & new therapists trying to get a | | | | I slowly began to learn my new trade. Along the |
| business off the ground. Yet, as the months went | | | | way I discovered Mike Dillard & his Magnetic |
| by I began to notice that there was not a great | | | | Sponsoring, here was a book that described what |
| deal of continuity with members, they came | | | | I had been doing & what I was doing. I am |
| & they went &the new members who | | | | very grateful to him for putting these principles |
| replaced them came & went too. In fact | | | | into a structured method. |
| over a 2 year period there were only 2 or 3 of | | | | Instead of working face to face with my clients |
| us who had stayed the course. There were only | | | | &customers as I did then, I now work |
| 2 or 3 of us who had actually managed to make | | | | across the globe from them using my computer. I |
| our business a success & made it pay. A | | | | use resources & sites such as YouTube, I |
| year or so later I went into teaching & I saw | | | | write articles, emails, tweet on Twitter.com, |
| first hand how many students took the courses | | | | attend Webinars, write on my blog & |
| hoping to make a living out of their new skills yet | | | | websites. Yet the same principles apply; I learn |
| they never truly got off the ground. | | | | things for myself & then pass on & |
| So I asked myself the question , 'what did we do | | | | share my knowledge & experiences. I help |
| that the others did not'? | | | | others to make their lives better & richer |
| I analysed just what it was that we were doing | | | | & more fulfilling so that in turn they can pass |
| different to everyone else & there were | | | | this on to others too. |
| common threads running through for each of us. | | | | The world has changed greatly in the last 15 |
| We never stopped learning something new & | | | | years with the advent of the internet. The |
| valuable not only to ourselves but to our clients, | | | | principles remain the same, if you can give |
| so we could position ourselves as leaders | | | | unconditionally without want or need for yourself |
| &experts. We provided extra value to our | | | | & if you can be of value to others, then |
| clients by being able to offer expert advice. We | | | | they will flock to you without you ever needing to |
| kept updating our skills & learned new ones | | | | go out & find them. People will recognise that |
| & invested time & money in ourselves. | | | | you have something of value for them & |
| We all worked with professionalism & | | | | they will reward you for your help. The more you |
| integrity & if we thought a client would | | | | can let go of your own needs & wants |
| benefit more from someone else's skills we | | | | & the more you focus on others, the more |
| passed them on rather than keeping them just to | | | | you will get back in return. The world is truly a |
| make a sale. We worked alongside other | | | | wonderful place & by moving your focus |
| professionals in both our own fields & others | | | | away from 'lack' & placing it on abundance |
| helping each other not viewing each other as the | | | | & others, magic can happen. |
